CymbolDesign & engineering studio

One team, both sides: design and engineering without the handoff

We don't run a design phase and then a build phase. Here is what changes when the people who draw the interface also ship it.

The classic agency pipeline has a seam in it: designers finish, engineers start, and some of the intent gets lost on the way across. We work without that seam.

The same people, start to finish

At Cymbol, the person who sketches a flow is in the room when it gets built, and often builds it. That makes a few things possible:

  1. Prototypes in the real stack. We test ideas in code early, so we learn what feels right on a real device, not in a static mockup.
  2. Constraints show up early. If an interaction will be expensive to build, we find out in the first week, not the eighth.
  3. Details survive. Motion, empty states and edge cases come from the same person who cared about them in the first place.

What you see as a client

You see working software early and often, and you talk to the people making it. There is no translation layer, and nothing gets lost on the way to the engineers.
